Taylor and Ignat
We had never built a home or
bought a newly built home. Our experience with builders and contractors was in
the “slim” range. So when we decided to redo our home’s interior, we were very
concerned to get a reliable company.
Happily, in talking with an
interior decorator, my wife was given the name of “a very reliable contractor”.
So we called Taylor and Ignat for a date to walk through the house. Joel Taylor
arrived at the appointed hour and we started the walk through. I had in mind a
thirty minute conversation. Wrong. More questions than I had imagined. I was
very impressed but my wife and I had homework to get proper answers.
Joel arrived with his
partner, Jeff Ignat, a few days later. We walked through again, listening to
their plans in detail. We had questions. They had answers. We reviewed the
quotation from which they had been reading and agreed on the spot. My wife and
I knew we had a well prepared, knowledgeable company to do the work.
From that point on, things
just got better and better. Monday mornings started with an updated timetable
for the week. Joel was our managing contractor and the master carpenter. Every
consideration was given. Permission was requested before work started in any
room. Furniture, my wife and I couldn’t move, was moved by Joel’s people. All
work areas were cleaned and swept clear at the end of every day. Soon it became
clear that quality suffused everything.
At least ten miles of masking
tape and a thousand square feet of plastic sheeting were used to make sure no
dust or paint damage occurred. In the end, the paint looked like it had always
been there, just brand new. Every crack was sealed. Every hole vanished. Every
wall, ceiling and all woodwork were painted with two coats minimum. New
lighting fixtures, switches and outlets were installed. New wall paper in three
rooms. New laundry cabinets were built and installed. A handmade kitchen
island was made to match the kitchen table. Granite countertops were installed
along with new kitchen tile. A wall mounted cabinet was connected to a cupboard
below to produce the appearance of an antique hutch. Carpentry and drywall work
was so well done, you would have thought a crew of six had been working instead
one man.
Taylor and Ignat do the
highest quality work I have ever seen. The materials used were chosen for the
product reliability and quality. The subcontractors had to meet the same
qualifications of reliability and quality workmanship. You can say what you
like about American craftsmanship. These guys are the real McCoy. When it
comes to quality and reliability, there’s only one game in town. Taylor and
Ignat.
Very sincerely,

Dear Jeff and Joel,
Don and I wanted to write and tell
you both how much we love our new kitchen. I will compare it to anyone's
kitchen in the Park Cities and our kitchen would be the winner.
When we began talking about
getting bids, I knew the first person I would call would be Jeff. I met
Jeff and his brother Glenn while they were doing a major project for the
Shelby's. I saw the quality of work they did and my only concern was if we
could afford Taylor and Ignat. We also got another bid. Not
impressed at all considering he said he could be done with the kitchen in two
weeks. I feel sure that if we had used the other contractor, it would have
been a nightmare!
Jeff and Joel met with us a few
times before we ever began. The contract we signed seemed very fair and
one thing they both pointed out was that there would be no coming to us and
asking for large amounts of money that we weren't expecting to spend or that was
not in the contract. From day one, we felt very comfortable with both of
them. You always hear the nightmare stories of remodeling, and we can tell
you honestly that we did not experience any nightmare. The job went
smoothly, it was a painless remodel with no glitches, the bid came in as they
stated, the subcontractors were always here, and Jeff and Joel were here
supervising every day. Not only did they supervise the others, they did a
majority of the work themselves. They stay involved until the end.
If we had any questions come up at the end of the day, they were here so that we
could ask them in person, we could email, call at any time of the day or night
and we would get an answer immediately. Jeff and Joel arrived on time each
day and worked hard. There was no sitting around wasting time. Rain
or shine they were here working. I would recommend Taylor and Ignat to
anyone and feel very comfortable in doing it. No nightmare stories, no
gouging prices, no hidden secrets. We had a printed report that Jeff kept
meticulously on the computer and we were given this report every other week,
showing what was paid, what was owed, and it was down to the penny!
As other clients have said in
their testimonials, Don and I would love to share our experience with future
clients. They can come see the quality of work and the incredible kitchen
we now enjoy every day. Jeff and Joel presented us with a CD at the end of
the project that has everything on it from billing down to the before and after
pictures.
Thank you both for a wonderful
experience. When I wake up in the morning and walk into my kitchen, I feel
like it is Christmas morning for me every day!
Our next project, there will be no
calling anyone but Jeff and Joel! The other important point is that we
started out as friends as well as clients and, in the end, we have a stronger
friendship than we did before we started.
Thank you BOTH!
Sincerely,
Kristie and Don

Dear Jeff and Joel:
Your service has greatly exceeded our
expectations. Taylor/Ignat has delivered to us on time, under budget, and
you've given us quality we could only dream of.
Jumping into a substantial home remodel like ours
is risky. However, your advice helped us to make the right decisions.
During the job, your counsel helped us to make smart decisions. Your
diligence helped us make timely decisions. All in all, you helped us get
more for our money, and the results couldn't please us more.
Our neighbors are jealous because they hear horror
stories from the rest of their friends, but we only brag and ask them over.
They also couldn't believe how you were actually on the job personally, and they
couldn't believe the way the subs showed up on time and gave us a great days'
work.
Both Gretchen and I consider you close friends
after this great experience, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Taylor/Ignat
to anyone for any scale of project. Please feel free to share this letter
with any prospects, and encourage them to call us or come to our home and view
the results for themselves. They can call us directly.
Thank you for making this project a rousing
success, for giving us such quality, and for watching after our home and our
resources as if they were your own.
Sincerely,
Bob and Gretchen Montgomery,

Dear Joel,
I want you to know what a great
experience it has been working with such a talented person! It has been
exciting for me to watch an artist such as you at work and have you on my jobs.
From the first that you arrived on
my job, I could tell that the quality of your work would be unmatched because of
your talent and highly disciplined work ethics. Whenever we had a
challenge, you were quick to come up with a solution to achieve the best result.
You began your workday, went to lunch and finished your workday on a very tight
schedule.
You always kept your job site
clean to the highest of standards and your materials were always very well
organized. I feel the quality of your work is the result of your unique
talent and your personal discipline.
Again I want to tell you what a
pleasure it has been working with you and look forward to seeing you on my
projects in the future.
Sincerely,
Stephen E. Conaway, President, Conaway Homes
Jeff Ignat has completed several
projects for us over the last 15 years. We have been extremely pleased
with the quality of his work every time. He has always done everything he
said he would do, and more, and completed every job on time, or early. We
would never consider using any other contractor.

I wish to recommend Taylor & Ignat
from a woman's point of view.
The most important possession to a
woman is her home. It houses her family as well as the family's
sentimental possessions.
When opening one's home to workmen
of any kind, the first thought to a woman is "Will everyone and everything be
safe?"
I can attest to this with both
Joel and Jeff. Their habits and manners are kind and observant of the
family's needs and of the life going on around the home. There is never a
need to worry about a mess, or about the language around children. The
habits of these men are most sincere, helpful, and honest of any workers I have
encountered in my lifetime.
I would leave my home, my
children, my grandchildren, and my dog without a qualm. I know that when I
come back that Joel and Jeff would have continued at their highest quality of
craftsmanship while being patient and teaching at the same time.
Please do not interpret this to
say that Taylor & Ignat is a babysitting company! I just feel this safe
and confident with them in my home, and as a woman, this is my recommendation.
Very sincerely,
Mardi Hagen
